Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen at filing.
• Age 21+ and under 65 at time of examination.
• High School diploma or equivalent; 60 semester credits or four years active duty.
• Eligible for Illinois LEO certification (ILETSB).
• Physically and psychologically fit for duty.

Responsibilities

• Handle complaints, investigate violations, and prepare reports.
• Patrol, prevent crime, and enforce laws and ordinances.
• Engage in community policing and public safety education.
• Respond to emergencies and support other emergency services.
• Participate in traffic enforcement, accident investigation, and court preparation.
