Job summary

The City of West Fargo Police Department is accepting lateral applicants through its Lateral Hiring process. Requirements include 60 semester hours in criminal justice or 4 years of honorable military service, or an equivalent education/experience, and licensure or eligibility as a North Dakota Peace Officer.

Candidates must be able to render credible testimony in court and maintain professional relationships across city departments and external agencies.

Qualifications

• 60 semester hours in criminal justice or a related field, or 4 years of honorable Military service in a similar position.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
• Must be a licensed North Dakota Peace Officer, or eligible for licensure.
• Must be able to render credible testimony in a court of law.
• Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with peers, superiors, other City departments, vendors, contractors, external government agencies and organizations.
• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license.
