Job summary

City of West Fargo Police Department seeks a lateral Police Officer to perform patrol, traffic enforcement, and investigations to protect lives and property within the city.

Must have completed a Law Enforcement Skills Academy and be ND POST licensed or eligible for licensure, plus at least one year of US law enforcement experience. See supplemental info for exact lateral requirements and availability of a Recruit posting.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed North Dakota Peace Officer, or eligible for licensure.
• 60 semester hours in criminal justice or a related field, or 4 years of honorable military service.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to enforce laws and regulations and deter violations.
• Respond to emergencies, accidents, and incidents; provide first aid and secure scenes.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and coordinate with agencies.
• Develop partnerships with residents and organizations to reduce crime and enhance safety.
