REQUIREMENTS TO FILE: Applicants must meet one of the following optionsA, B or C:
A. California Applicants: Currently employed full-time for at least one continuous year in the State of California as a Peace Officer, as defined by California Penal Code Sections 830, 830.1, and 830.2 and possession of a valid Basic POST Certificate issued by the State of California (proof required) *.

This selection procedure will be conducted using a non-competitive process. Applications are evaluated based on training, experience, education, certificates and/or licenses. There is no examination.
This is a continuous eligible list, which will expire in six months, but may be extended.All applicants meeting the minimum requirements to file will be placed on the eligible list. Applicants receiving Veteran's Credit first and then in the order in which applications were filed. The continuous eligible list will expire in six months but may be extended. Eligible lists may be established periodically.
Individuals identified as the best-qualified applicants will be called to participate in the final selection procedure administered by the Police Department.
After a conditional offer of employment, all prospective employees must pass a thorough background investigation and a job-related medical examination. In addition, physical ability, polygraph and psychological examinations will be given.
