Job summary

The Nantucket Police Department is seeking motivated individuals to join a full-service public safety team. Officers perform police, emergency communications (dispatch), harbormaster, and business licensing/ permitting duties to protect residents and visitors on the island.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid Massachusetts driver's license, and possess a license to carry (LTC) or have the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid Massachusetts driver's license.
• Possess a license to carry (LTC) or ability to obtain one.
• A degree in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Officers perform police, emergency communications (Dispatch), Harbormaster, and Business Licensing/Permitting duties.
• Work on the Pitman schedule to provide 24/7 community support and protection.

Skills
