Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
• High school diploma or GED and a valid driver's license with clean record.
• Pass background, criminal, psychological, medical, and drug screenings.
• Meet SC CJ Academy certification requirements or eligible to attend.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas by vehicle and foot.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Enforce federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
• Conduct investigations and interviews; collect evidence.
• Prepare incident and investigative reports; testify in court.
• Enforce traffic laws and investigate collisions; assist in disasters.
• Engage in community policing and provide event security.
