Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, DPSST certificates, a valid driver’s license, and a successful DPSST background process. Veterans’ preference and residency rules apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED and 1 year of work experience or equivalent to perform duties.
• Must be 21 years of age at time of hire.
• Meet DPSST physical standards.
• Valid driver’s license; obtain Oregon Class C within 30 days.
• DPSST Basic Police Certificate within 12 months.
• Law Enforcement Data System Certificate within 60 days of assignment.

Responsibilities

• Perform patrol duties and respond to incidents to protect the community.
• Opportunity for assignments in patrol, motors (traffic), detectives, K-9s, and school resource officer roles.
• Engage in background investigations and comply with testing requirements as part of the selection process.
