Job summary

City of Grants Pass Police Department is seeking Police Officers to protect and serve our community. The role includes patrol, motors (traffic), detectives, K-9s, and school resource officer duties with rotating shifts, day and night work, and weekend coverage.

Candidates will complete NTN testing, submit required documents, and participate in a structured field training program. Veterans' preference rules and DPSST certificates apply during hiring.

Qualifications

• Great communication skills and drive to learn are expected.
• Must be 21 years of age at time of hire.
• Residency within allowable distance; see city policy for details.
• DPSST Police Certificate and other certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Rotating shifts including days, nights, and weekends.
• Test and selection process through NTN with required materials.
• On-the-job training and field training will follow successful testing and selection.
• Final hiring decisions involve background checks, performance reviews, and applicable veteran preferences.
