Qualifications

• Federal laws, State laws, local laws, and ordinances.
• Principles and procedures of crime prevention and investigation.
• Principles and practices of tactical operations.
• Principles of business writing and report preparation.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Observe patrol area for violations and perform traffic enforcement, detain suspicious persons, serve warrants and transport prisoners.
• Answer calls for service, take reports, sign complaints, and interview witnesses.
• Conduct security checks, respond to alarms, and assist Fire-EMS as needed.
• Maintain uniforms and equipment, including vehicles and radar gear, and report maintenance needs.
• Prepare official reports and appear in court; coordinate with attorneys and other agencies.
• Participate in special assignments and community activities; meet job function and physical requirements.
• Represent the department professionally and promote a positive image in the community.
• Ensure adherence to Administrative Orders, city ordinances, and safety policies.
