The City of Bakersfield is seeking Police Officers, both Academy Graduates and Lateral candidates, to join their police department. Successful candidates will engage in law enforcement duties to protect the community, enforce laws, and conduct investigations. Applicants must meet specific qualifications, including completion of a California POST Academy and possession of a valid POST Certificate.

THE POSITION:
Under general supervision, performs professional duties in a sworn capacity pursuant to California Penal Code 830.1 and is responsible for protecting persons and property; enforcing state and local laws and ordinances; identifies, deters and investigates crime; contributes to the positive welfare of the community; and performs related work as required
