The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department (MNPD) is seeking current Police Officers with two (2) or more years of uninterrupted full-time law enforcement experience, having obtained a certification as a law enforcement officer through a State Police Standards and Training Commission. This posting is to specifically accept lateral applications for our School Resource Officer Program, with multiple vacancies in our Nashville Elementary Schools. Salary Range:
The Metro Nashville Police Department is a 24/7 operation. Employees must be able to work any day and/or shift, as needed.
***Education incentives available to qualified candidates.
***Pre-academy hiring opportunities may be available.
*** All regular days off are Saturday and Sunday.
Scheduled vacations are strongly encouraged for the non-school months of late May through mid-August as well as school seasonal holiday breaks (spring break, fall break, Christmas break). There is an expectation of “after hours” approved overtime, i.e. speaking engagements, sporting events, PTA meetings, community school meetings, involving presentations on divisional program protocols and strategies for school/community security and safety.
