The Milford Police Department is responsible for the safety of 36 square miles in southwest Oakland County, with easy access via I-96 and M-59. With a population of more than 17,000, it serves as a central business district for approximately 25,000 people. Milford's vibrant downtown district attracts visitors from nearby cities like Ann Arbor and Dearborn while maintaining a small-town feel. The Village features six parks, including Central Park along the Huron River, and is part of the Huron Valley School District with two elementary schools and one middle school located within its boundaries.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Police Officer located in Milford, MI. The Police Officer will be responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, conducting crime prevention activities, and responding to emergency calls. Daily tasks include patrolling assigned areas, investigating crimes, collecting evidence, and preparing detailed reports. The officer will also engage with the community to foster positive relationships and participate in various community events.

Qualifications

• 60 college credit hours
• Ability to enforce laws and maintain public safety
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Completion of police academy training and certification
• Pass an interview, comprehensive background investigation, medical and psychological exam
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
