Federal legislation requires institutions of higher education to inform prospective members of our community about its most recent crime/incident statistics; crime prevention; security programs and activities; policies concerning the reporting of crime; and related information in accordance with the Campus Security Act, commonly referred to as the Clery Act. Work Schedule: The selected candidate will be required to work 12-hour rotating shifts. Night, weekend, and holiday work is required.

The university police officer is a member of the University Police Department, which serves and protects the campus community. The officer is responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with the university community; maintaining a secure environment; mitigating safety hazards; being observant and responding to actual and suspected criminal activity on campus; controlling and regulating traffic; and investigating security, safety, crime, and traffic incidents. The university police officer is dedicated to educating, mentoring, and contributing to the success of the university community.
The incumbent is a sworn peace officer with primary responsibility for protecting life and property at Northern Kentucky University. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Dependent on qualifications and experience; up to $27.63/hour + KLEFPF incentive upon KLEC certification. Position participates in state hazardous duty retirement system.
