Fairmont Police Department is administering a written Civil Service test scheduled for January 14th at 6:30 PM. Certified officers are exempt from Physical Ability testing, and the department outlines several pay and benefits enhancements for hires.

Starting pay is $53,597 with potential $10,000 additional payment for applicants who are already certified. In addition, officers receive annual pay enhancements including $500 per year of service, $155 longevity pay, and a $20–$40 monthly fitness

Fairmont Police Department is again taking applications for a written Civil Service test to be given given January 14th @ 6:30PM.

Certified officers exempt from Physical ability testing.

• $53,597 to start
• $10k payment to hired applicants who are already certified.

Additionally, on reg and OT, officers receive:

• Certified officer Pay ($500 each year of service)
• Longevity pay ($155 each year of service)

• pay for uniform cleaning ($650/yr)
• Alternative Health care pay ($3,500/yr to have other health ins)

• Call out/Court pay - minimum 4 hours overtime
• Uniforms -New Officers provided complete uniform; $800/year allowance
• Short Turn around Overtime (overtime if less than 10 hours rest before your next shift)
