Job summary

The Town of Yarmouth Massachusetts is seeking a Police Mechanic to assist the Police Department with vehicle maintenance. The role involves performing skilled maintenance and repair work on department motor vehicles and ensuring the proper operational condition of equipment.

Applicants must have an associate's degree or equivalent trade knowledge along with ASE Certification and 3-5 years of experience. This position is provisional, offering up to 19 hours a week at $30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3-5 years prior work experience.
• Class D Motor Vehicle Driver’s License required.
• Must have ASE Certification and certification to work on hybrid vehicles.
• Employee must be CJIS certified and must obtain a firearms license.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and skilled mechanical work on town vehicles and equipment.
• Keep an inventory of parts and order replacement parts as necessary.
• Attend training sessions to maintain knowledge of safety requirements.
• Operate heavy equipment in performing various routine tasks.
