Job summary

DC Government, Metropolitan Police Department, Organizational Culture and Wellness Bureau, Metropolitan Police Academy Division, is seeking a Training Instructor responsible for planning and delivering classroom, laboratory, and field training for sworn and civilian personnel within the physical training program.

The incumbent will develop lesson plans, training aids, tests, and evaluation criteria, provide remedial training, and offer guidance on physical performance and wellness, while

Responsibilities

• Developing lesson plans, training aids, training outlines, tests, and course evaluation criteria.
• Providing remedial training for participants who are unable to acquire the basic skills.
• Providing written and oral recommendations to training participants regarding their physical performance and wellness.
• Researching, reviewing, and analyzing job-related literature and consulting with external experts to inform training.
• Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and recommending remedial action.
• Participating in developing and revising program/course material in physical techniques instruction.
• Coordinating with other trainers and MPD staff to schedule and conduct training sessions.
• Developing and evaluating agency-wide health and wellness initiatives and coordinating related programs.
