St. Louis County is seeking a dedicated maintenance supervisor for the Central County Precinct. The role oversees contract cleaners, conducts daily inspections, and coordinates with vendors to keep the building and grounds in top condition.
The position requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience, with responsibilities including minor repairs, routine cleaning supervision, and setup for community events.
An employee in this job class is responsible for the overall maintenance and cleanliness of the Central County Precinct building and grounds. This is done by overseeing and managing the contract cleaners who perform the janitorial tasks, and daily inspections of the building and property. The work involves a high degree of initiative and autonomy in order to effectively manage the property.
Duty hours: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday (may be adjusted to meet Department needs). Central CountyPrecinct is located at 1333 Ashby Rd, St. Louis, MO 63132.
Per the Department's Collective Bargaining Agreement, newly hired employees who do not possess corresponding experience will start at the base starting pay listed in this posting.
Position will be open until filled.
Will become familiar with other County Government locations including Police Headquarters, County Highway, County Government Print Shop.
Graduation from high school and one year of experience performing building maintenance, minor mechanical system repairs or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Possession of a valid state driver's license.
The St. Louis County Police Department offers tuition reimbursement and education incentives for professional staff employees who possess a degree of higher education from an accredited institution. The education pay incentive only applies if the degree is not a position requirement. They shall receive the following addition to their base rate of pay:
Associate's degree: $1,200/year
Bachelor's degree: $2,400/year
Master's degree: $4,800/year
Doctorate degree: $7,200/year
Citizen of the United States or valid work permit and apply for citizenship when eligible.
Eighteen (18) years of age at the time of appointment.
Educational requirements and skills will be determined by the position classification.
Must be free from conviction of a felony or a Class "A" misdemeanor.
Must not have a "Dishonorable" discharge or "Bad Conduct" discharge if having served in the military. All "Other Than Honorable" discharges will be reviewed on an individual basis.
Under the regulations of the Police Department, all appointments to the St. Louis County Police Department are made on the basis of a continuously open, competitive hiring process conducted under the supervision of the Personnel Services Unit.
