Job summary

MiraCosta College is seeking substitute community service officers to support campus security on a part-time, on-call basis at district facilities.

Under limited supervision, you will patrol campuses by vehicle, on foot, or by bicycle during graveyard or weekend shifts, provide safety escorts, and perform related duties as assigned. Residency within California (within 200 road miles) is required by Board Policy 7800.

Job description

MiraCosta College is building a pool of substitute community service officers. Assignments are part-time/on call/as needed at any district facility.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:

MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee’s regularly assigned district worksite.

The District may consider an individual’s request to temporarily reside outside the State of California or beyond the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, provided it does not exceed 12 consecutive months.

$31.17 per hour (range 16, step1).
