Job summary

The Pinehurst Police Department seeks a motivated trainee to join as a non-sworn employee enrolled in the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program. You will assist with dispatch, fingerprinting, traffic and pedestrian control for schools and events, and support officers during emergencies.

Successful completion of the BLET program is required. This position prioritizes safety, teamwork, and clear communication, with reporting to the Deputy Police Chief for duties outside the BLET program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preference for emergency services experience.
• Enrollment in accredited Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) program.

Responsibilities

• Attend and complete an accredited BLET program and required tests.
• Perform fingerprinting duties and provide traffic/pedestrian control for schools and events.
• Assist with dispatch functions and support officers and investigations as needed.
• Attend mandatory department meetings and complete in-service training.
• Communicate clearly, operate a computer, and report activities concisely.
