The Prairie View A&M University Police Cadet Program is designed to recruit, develop, and prepare highly qualified individuals for a career in law enforcement within the Prairie View A&M University Police Department. Cadets will receive structured training, mentorship, and practical experience in campus policing while developing the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary to become successful Texas Peace Officers. The program serves as a career pathway to the position of Police Officer (In Training) and supports the department's commitment to professionalism, community engagement, and public safety. This Evergreen position will be used to hire multiple candidates for this role.
Must commit to a minimum of two (2) years of service following appointment as a Police Officer I. Employees who separate from employment before fulfilling the required two-year commitment may be subject to repayment of academy-related costs and other training expenses, as outlined in any applicable training reimbursement agreement.
All positions are security-sensitive. Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation, and employment is contingent upon the institution’s verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution’s procedures, including the completion of the criminal history check.
