Position Summary
Police Accreditation Manager is a civilian position that implements and manages the police department’s accreditation process, including project management, re-accreditation activities, ensuring compliance with state and national standards. Additional responsibilities include records management, planning and implementing community projects and events such as the annual National Night Out event and community picnic. Position is involved with the planning and coordinating the High School Intern Program, Junior Police Academy and serves as a liaison to Community Watch.
This position is responsible for development of administrative systems to ensure compliance with the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC) rules and regulations and reports to the Chief of Police.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university witha minimum of anassociate’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, business administration or related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered. Experience preferred with administrative accreditation management and in-depth knowledge of VLEPSC.
Must currently possess or be eligible to obtain, a Virginia driver’s license with an overall good driving record.
Working Conditions
This is light work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires fingering, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
