Job summary

Aims Community College in Colorado is seeking part-time Assistant Instructors to support the Police Academy lead instructor and help recruits prepare for the POST exam. You will assist with skill development and supervise student progress while maintaining safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include coaching, grading under supervision, tool maintenance, and setting up training evolutions; and you will help ensure adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

• Colorado POST certified or other credentials specific to the topic being taught.
• Five (5) years of patrol/professional experience.
• Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred (CTE Office).

Responsibilities

• Instruct small group sessions to demonstrate skills and coach student performance.
• Evaluate student performance and document skill proficiencies.
• Assist with setup and teardown of training evolutions/stations.
• Assist the primary instructor with ensuring compliance with outside agency regulations.
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of tools and equipment as needed.
