Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Claxton, GA is seeking an entry-level Assembler for concrete pole production. The role requires pulling cable, assembling poles, inspecting finished products, and performing post-job cleanup.

It is a physical, hands-on position with long hours and extreme temperatures. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of general labor experience in manufacturing, with the ability to read tape measures, use basic hand tools, and work overtime

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is highly desirable but not required.
• One year of general labor experience preferably in a manufacturing environment or willing to learn.
• Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner.
• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures with exposure to chemicals and particulates.
• Ability to recognize and solve practical problems.

Responsibilities

• CABLE PULLING: Verifying the strand, pulling the strand and placement into tip tension plate, pulling cable, cutting the strand, and placing the strand at the base tension plate.
• ASSEMBLY OF POLE: Installing strand, chucks on strand, marking hole patterns, cutting cable, and operating a skill saw; assembling a cage safely.
• POLE INSPECTION: Work with lubrication molds operators, cranes, and tension stands; report defects to the manager; inspect and replace reusable materials.
