Job summary

Xanterra is seeking a Hobo for The Polar Express at Grand Canyon Railway in Williams, AZ. This part-time seasonal role runs 10/15/2026–1/03/2027, with weekly weekends and some weekdays. Wage is $19.00 per hour plus tips, with a 6+ hour shift and 2–4 days per week schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have previous experience in public speaking.
• Must demonstrate professional communication skills in a guest-facing role.
• Must be open to performing in a live audience and maintain a strong stage presence.

Responsibilities

• Portray and maintain the Hobo character at all times, from clock-in to clock-out.
• Interact with children and adults with good guest engagement and audience control.
• Follow safety practices and respond to guest emergencies when needed.
• Participate in basic vocals and movement as presented in the script.
• Work with the cast and staff to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Maintain schedule flexibility; shifts include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
