Job summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) seeks a Poison Control Specialist/RN to provide timely clinical information and treatment recommendations to healthcare providers and the public about toxic exposures across APDIC’s region.

You will document calls, update electronic medical records, educate callers on toxic substances, and support students and residents. A current RN license is required, with preference for ED/ICU experience.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Strong reading, writing, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing information and treatment advice to callers regarding toxic exposures or potentially toxic exposures.
• Creating and updating the electronic medical records created by these inquiries.
• Providing educational information on toxic substances and drug substances to callers.
• Assisting in the education/instruction of professional students and residents.
• Other duties as assigned.
