Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, part of Trinity Health, seeks a Certified Medical Technologist – Point of Care Coordinator to lead POC testing programs and ensure rapid, compliant patient care. You will develop and maintain POC policies, train staff, and collaborate with administration on cost and quality initiatives.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science, ASCP/CLS/NCA certification, and 3–5 years’ lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science required.
• ASCP, CLS or NCA certification required.
• 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience required.
• Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and develop POC testing programs to bring testing closer to the patient.
• Evaluate requests for new POC testing and assess cost impact.
• Present findings and cost analysis to Lab administration for approval.
• Select and evaluate new POC testing devices for accuracy and usability.
• Provide training for patient care providers on POC testing.
• Maintain records and competency databases for staff.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation and federal regulations.
