Job summary

FedWriters, Inc. seeks a PodRad Developer to support NSSL by assembling radar sub-systems, calibrating RF equipment, and adapting MATLAB/Python code to generate Doppler velocity spectra. You will work closely with NSSL scientists to refine designs and validate data products in field deployments.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware work, software development in MATLAB/Python, and collaboration across engineering disciplines at a national weather laboratory in Norman, OK.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of full-time engineering experience.
• Experience with electromechanical assembly and RF hardware testing preferred.
• Proficiency with MATLAB, Python, and/or C++.

Responsibilities

• Assemble radar sub-systems and components, cabling, and housing.
• Calibrate RF equipment and verify performance baselines.
• Modify or write MATLAB/Python/C++ code to produce radar products.
• Collaborate with NSSL scientists to refine designs and validate results.
• Update technical schematics and maintain logs and code repositories.
