Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering complex health services within the Cartersville, GA clinic. This role primarily assists the physician and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.

The ideal candidate will have podiatry/orthopedic experience, X-ray exposure, and strong EMR skills (Athenahealth). Excellent communication and patient-first mindset are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic exposure preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Geriatric patient care experience preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience with EMR; preferably athenahealth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake: medical, social, surgical histories.
• Record vitals and document in the Athenahealth EMR.
• Assist in exams, take X-rays as required.
• Restock exam rooms and dispose of trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam/x-ray rooms after visits.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients and referrals.
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support as needed.
