Exciting opportunity to join the orthopedic team with Endeavor as a podiatry APN in the Edward/Elmhurst Hospital market. This position will manage inpatient and outpatient podiatry patients. The podiatry APP will evaluate new and existing patients as well as post operative visits. The pay and benefits are competitive, and the environment is professionally satisfying.
Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), the podiatry APN provides podiatry care to patients, including obtaining detailed history and performing physical examinations, ordering imaging, lab tests, and diagnostic procedures, interpreting results, instructing patients on therapeutic regimens and pre/post operative instructions, maintaining records, writing progress notes, and following patients through their course of treatment in clinic and hospital settings. The podiatry APN collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes, prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, demonstrates evidence-based practice, and participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. The podiatry APN assesses learning needs of patients and families, employs strategies and interventions to promote health, works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams, contributes to safety outcomes, and supports the strategic plan of the organization.
