Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Podiatrist - Primary Care, Site Medical Director for the VA Puget Sound Auburn Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Auburn, WA.

The incumbent leads interdisciplinary patient care within primary care and drives clinical operations in collaboration with the PACT triad and extended services. Responsibilities include supervision, performance evaluation, population health initiatives, and alignment with Medical Staff By-Laws.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients appropriate to the specialty of Internal Medicine or Family Practice, or as specified in their clinical privileges.
• Acts as supervisor including the handling of administrative tasks, human resources issues, and performance evaluation for their supervisees.
• Engages in population health and quality improvement efforts related to care of Veterans within the bounds of state law as defined by the board of professional licensure.
• Works collaboratively with the Patient Aligned Care Team triad and extended PACT services to optimize clinical operations.
• Leads strategic and operational planning, reviews staffing/resource utilization, monitors performance measures and veteran satisfaction metrics.
• Supports staff engagement in emergency planning and drills.
