Job summary

Diagnostic Laboratory Services, Inc. (DLS) provides technical oversight for Point of Care Testing (POCT) across multiple units in Hawaii. The role supports nurses and non-licensed staff with training, competency assessments and guidance on lab testing policies and regulatory requirements.

The position collaborates with clinical and IT teams, maintains safety and confidentiality, and ensures high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in medical laboratory science or technology.
• MT/MLS or MLT certification required.
• Hawaii license as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Two years MT or four years MLT experience.
• Strong English communication and teamwork required.
• Experience with LIS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the POCT technical resource across units.
• Collaborate with nursing, laboratory and IT to align workflows.
• Provide education and training on instruments and documentation.
• Conduct training on new POCT procedures for staff.
• Review QA activities and audits; monitor QA metrics.
• Support regulatory compliance and accreditation activities.
