Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science with ASCP or AMT certification required (or eligible; within 6 months).
• 4 years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting required.
• Qualification as Technical Consultant as defined by CLIA ’88 required.
• IDPH POC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical oversight for non-laboratory staff performing POCT across hospital and off-site locations.
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation of new employees and students.
• Liaise between CGH and associated outside educational institutions.
• Develop and implement training programs for laboratory staff for new technologies and protocols.
• Maintain operator certification and competency files per regulatory requirements.
• Perform monthly inspection readiness audits at hospital and off-site locations.
• Assist in ongoing QC and PI programs for the laboratory.
• Supervise daily operations and personnel of the Main Clinic Laboratory.
• Communicate and report daily to Laboratory Director or Assistant Director.
• Review monthly QC data, audits, and action plans; monitor performance.
• Provide regular reports to the Laboratory Administrative Director and Laboratory Medical Director.
