Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Duncan, SC is hiring for an assembler role. You will assemble, test, and inspect parts in an industrial setting, using hand tools and crane equipment. The shift is 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, requiring good listening and teamwork to meet production goals.

  • Maintain assembly and test equipment as required.
  • Move material to and from the workstation by hand, cart, and crane.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and maintain good housekeeping.

You will be responsible for assembling and disassembling assembly parts, as well as having the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the operations in an industrial setting. You will make a difference by being a team player and have great listening and communication skills.

  • Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly range for this role is between $19.00+ an hour.

What will your typical day look like?
  • Assist in daily 5s and cleaning procedures.
  • Assists others in obtaining solutions to quality and production issues.
  • Other duties as may be required or assigned.
  • Assemble, test, and inspect according to engineering drawings and test codes
  • Work with electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble equipment that does not pass the test.

Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment. The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities including but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead crane usage, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.

Mental Demands:While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills, and interact with other employees, customers, and vendors.
