Job summary

AMD, Inc. is seeking a PMTS Software System Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems for semiconductor operations.

The role includes leading debugging efforts, providing strategy, and helping resolve issues quickly across design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. You will work on system-level software, kernel, virtualization, and open source projects such as Linux KVM and QEMU, while evaluating hardware compatibility and contributing to hardware design

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Five years of related engineering experience.
• Alternate: Bachelor’s + 7 years progressive experience in the job offered.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test operating systems for semiconductor operations.
• Provide guidance to developers and set long-range strategy; resolve issues quickly.
• Develop software systems and tools for design, infrastructure and technology platforms.
• Improve debug capabilities and drive innovation in tools and methods.
• Assess hardware compatibility and influence hardware design.
• Work on systems-level software across AMD semiconductor platforms.
