Job summary

The Select Group is seeking a DO Project Manager to lead the Detroit-based Distribution Operations PMO, overseeing 20-30 staff and guiding onboarding, reporting, and execution of the program. This client-facing role demands strong PM fundamentals, data aptitude, and comfort with modern tools.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10 years in utilities/infrastructure program management, proficiency in Excel/Power BI, and a PMP or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of program/project management experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, or related capital-intensive industry.
• Strong data and reporting skills — comfortable working in Excel/Power BI or similar tools.
• Interest in applying AI tools to improve reporting efficiency and project health analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, executive-level narratives.
• Ability to work onsite in Detroit, MI, 3 days per week.
• PMP or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months.

Responsibilities

• PMO Operations & Delivery: Support day-to-day execution of the Distribution Operations PMO, ensuring PM processes, tools, and cadences are applied across the program.
• Onboard new team members and contractors — leading onboarding sessions and ensuring smooth ramp-up.
• Coordinate program administration tasks, including scheduling, documentation management, meeting logistics, and PMO artifacts.
• Own the collection, validation, and analysis of project data across the program (schedule, cost, resource, risk).
• Track and report project health status, KPIs, and SLAs, identifying trends and escalation needs.
• Build and maintain executive-ready reporting deliverables (dashboards, status decks, scorecards).
