Job summary

Renesas is seeking an experienced PMO leader to establish and run the PMO for our automotive semiconductor power management group in Austin. You will drive governance, program execution, and cross‑functional alignment across design, development, validation, production, and manufacturing ramps.

You will implement stage‑gate processes with functional safety reviews, track risks and ASIL classifications, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of program and portfolio management experience in semiconductor, automotive electronics, or related complex product development environments.
• Experience establishing and leading PMO organizations with responsibility for 10+ concurrent programs across design, development, validation, and production phases.
• Deep understanding of automotive product development processes, NPI methodologies, design‑in cycles, volume production ramps, and supplier management in automotive supply chains.
• Proven expertise in establishing stage‑gate processes, project governance frameworks, portfolio management, and resource planning aligned with best practices.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the PMO organization: define vision, governance, processes, tools, and team for 15–25 concurrent programs across design, development, validation and production.
• Implement portfolio governance with quarterly reviews, go/no-go decisions, and resource allocation; provide visibility into status, risks, and critical paths.
• Drive program execution excellence with clear milestones, dependencies, and success criteria; track health via dashboards and steering reviews.
• Manage schedule, budget, and resource allocation with robust planning and forecasting; escalate constraints to leadership.
• Drive functional safety governance across programs aligned with ISO 26262 and SOTIF; embed safety reviews in stage‑gates and milestones.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks including functional safety and compliance risks; maintain enterprise risk dashboards.
• Lead on‑time, on‑budget delivery of design-ins and production ramps; ensure NPI processes are followed and delivery commitments are met.
• Build cross‑functional collaboration among Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain.
• Establish metrics, reporting cadence, and dashboards for executive and cross‑functional stakeholders; drive PMO process improvements.
