Job summary

The Oceans Behavioral Hospital Abilene seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. You will work with a psychiatrist to develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and educate patients while maintaining compliance with Joint Commission and state regulations.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Nursing, an active RN license in Texas, and PMHNP certification.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license in the state where practicing.
• Certification to practice as PMHNP in the practicing state.
• CPR certification and Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, conducting, and prescribing medications for psychiatric-mental health patients.
• Provide emergency psychiatric services and psychosocial examinations.
• Developing treatment plans and managing patient care with proper evaluation.
• Collaborating with patients, families, and primary healthcare providers.
