Job summary

FlexStaff seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with clinical experience treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The role involves patient admission, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up, with responsibilities spanning rounds, orders, lab tests, and charting.

You will collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure quality care, discharge planning, and post-discharge instructions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master's Degree in a Nurse Practitioner program and NB Certification.
• Current NY NP license and NY RN license required.
• Collaborative practice agreement or attestation per NY policy (Nurse Practitioner Modernization Act 2015).
• Current BLS certification, required

Responsibilities

• Takes initial patient histories and performs physical examinations.
• Initiates, documents, and communicates the plan of care and follows up to ensure complete screening and preparation of patients.
• Performs daily patient rounds.
• Writes orders for medications, laboratory work, and diagnostic tests.
• Interprets laboratory and test results.
• Confers with attending physicians, residents, nursing staff, and other care providers to ensure quality patient care.
• Notes discharge summaries, prescriptions, and referrals on patient charts.
• Informs patients of necessary post-discharge care instructions.
