Job summary

Granger Waste Services, Inc in Alma, MI is seeking a PM Technician to support a large fleet of trucks and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections and minor repairs while advancing through our career path with a safety-first team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of diesel mechanic experience.
• Experience with electrical systems, air brakes, steering and suspension, drivetrain, hydraulic, HVAC and after-treatment systems.
• Own hand tools up to ½” drive with end wrenches and sockets up to 1-1/4”.
• Michigan Heavy-Duty Truck Brakes & Braking Systems Certification required.
• Commitment to safety and quality work.

Responsibilities

• Perform lube, oil and filter services.
• Complete chassis, brake and tire inspections.
• Adjust brakes and other vehicle components.
• Mount, dismount and torque tires.
• Perform basic electrical repairs.
• Replace bulbs, flashers and other minor components.
• Rebuild non‑mechanical components such as mirrors and steps.
• Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance projects.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum one year of diesel mechanic experience
• Experience working with electrical systems, air brakes, steering and suspension, drivetrain components, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems and after-treatment systems
• Ability to supply personal hand tools up to ½” drive with end wrenches and sockets up to 1-1/4”
• State of Michigan Heavy-Duty Truck Brakes & Braking Systems Certification required
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Self-motivated with a positive team-oriented attitude
• Commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to pass physical and pre-employment and random drug screens (including marijuana)
