Granger Waste Services is actively hiring PM technicians in Alma, MI to maintain a large diesel fleet. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs while gaining hands‑on experience and advancing along a defined career path.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of diesel mechanic experience.
• Experience with electrical systems, air brakes, steering & suspension, drivetrain components, hydraulic systems, HVAC and after‑treatment systems.
• Must supply personal hand tools up to ½" drive with end wrenches and sockets up to 1‑1/4".
• State of Michigan Heavy‑Duty Truck Brakes & Braking Systems Certification required.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Self‑motivated with a positive team‑oriented attitude.
• Commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to pass physical and pre‑employment and random drug screens.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections of fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct lube, oil, and filter services; inspect brakes, chassis, and tires.
• Assist with repairs and maintenance projects as needed.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area and follow safety procedures.

WhatYou’llDo

• Perform lube, oil and filter services
• Complete chassis, brake and tire inspections
• Adjust brakes and other vehicle components
• Mount, dismount and torque tires
• Service air dryers
• Perform basic electrical repairs
• Replace bulbs, flashers and other minor components
• Rebuild non‑mechanical components such as mirrors and steps
• Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance projects
• Maintain a safe and organized work area
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

WhatWe’reLooking For

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum one year of diesel mechanic experience
• Experience working with electrical systems, air brakes, steering and suspension, drivetrain components, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems and after‑treatment systems
