Job summary

JW Craft / Premier Portables is seeking a Vehicle Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician to perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on our fleet. The role is physical, requiring standing, bending, and lifting, with full benefits and growth opportunities inside a rapidly expanding company.

You will conduct PM on fleet vehicles, document work, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining safety standards. CDL is a plus, ASE PMI & Brakes helpful, and a strong work ethic is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; a one-year college/technical certificate preferred.
• Minimum of two years related experience/training.
• ASE Certification in PMI and Brakes is a plus.
• Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.
• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and speak English well for communication and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner and in compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Perform service runs to repair trucks/units off-site as required.
• Inspect, lubricate, and service fleet vehicles; check/change fluids and filters.
• Maintain and follow maintenance schedules; ensure safety devices are functional.
• Inspect vehicle systems such as electrical, air, and brake systems; perform minor repairs.
• Road-test/test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW and document results.
• Maintain records of time, repairs, and parts usage on digital devices.
• Identify worn components and report issues; coordinate with supervisor as needed.

Join Our Growing Team at JW Craft / Premier Portables! JW Craft / Premier Portables is rapidly expanding, and we're hiring a Vehicle Preventive Maintenance (PM) Technician to help maintain our fleet. This hands-on role involves performing scheduled preventive maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment to help keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. The position is physically active and routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion, including prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, and working in awkward positions. Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Perform service runs to repair trucks/units off-site as required.
• Inspect, lubricate, and service fleet vehicles during preventive maintenance service. Check, fill, and/or change appropriate fluids for all vehicle parts and check/change filters.
• Ensure that company maintenance schedules are followed.
• Inspect vehicle support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to various operating systems on the vehicles, equipment, or related components.
• Perform PMI on tractors, trailers, and other powered equipment/vehicles.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Identify and repair or report worn or failed components, leaks, etc.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties related to tools, materials, the shop, and work areas.
• Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
• Maintain accurate records (time, repair orders, and parts usage) on computer, smartphone, and tablet technology.
• Review the electronic pre-inspection checklist and address issues daily.
• Consult with immediate supervisor when a repair is outside of skill set to determine an approach to ensure proper and safe in-house repairs and/or if outside vendor assistance is required.
• Road-test/ Test drive vehicles under 26,000 GVW.
• Fill in portable unit routes, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, prefer a one-year certificate from college or technical school.
• Minimum of two years related experience/training.
• ASE Certification in PMI & Brakes a plus.

• Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude, repair experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, and safety training.

Job Pay

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour
