Job summary

The James, a neighborhood restaurant on James Island in Charleston, SC, seeks a driven PM Sous Chef to lead a bustling kitchen with scratch-made American fare and a welcoming atmosphere.

You will work closely with the Executive Chef to maintain top standards, train staff, and manage daily operations, while contributing to growth within The Neighborhood Dining Group. This role offers strong benefits and opportunities for leadership development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a high-volume kitchen leadership role.
• Passionate about hospitality and team development.
• Detail-oriented with strong organization and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Work with Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations.
• Uphold standards of food quality, prep, and presentation.
• Train and mentor staff for consistency and strong teamwork.
• Oversee cleanliness, safety, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with front-of-house for seamless service.
• Assist with scheduling, prep, and ordering.
• Maintain hands-on presence during all services.
