A Preventative Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the hotel remains safe, functional, and guest‑ready at all times. This position focuses on proactive maintenance, early detection of issues, and completing repairs before they impact the guest experience. The role covers guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and essential hotel equipment.
Preventative Maintenance Engineers must demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to support both guests and internal departments.
Assist with the operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on:
Monitor and support energy‑conservation efforts throughout the property.
Repair or troubleshoot laundry equipment.
Repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as needed.
Respond to work orders and guest requests in a timely, professional manner.
Maintain a safe working environment by following hotel and OSHA guidelines.
Communicate clearly with supervisors, managers, and other departments.
Document completed tasks accurately in the hotel’s work‑order system.
Support engineering leadership with additional tasks or special projects as assigned.
Minimum one year of building maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred).
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license.
Open availability, including weekends and holidays as needed. Must have open PM availability.
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is a plus.
