Job summary

Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU is seeking a versatile Cook 2 to join our culinary team, focusing on prep and cold stations. This role supports Neighborhood Services and may assist in other kitchens across the property, with emphasis on salad, appetizers, and desserts.

You will work in a collaborative environment, maintain a clean workstation, and ensure quality and consistency in food preparation while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience as Prep Cook or similar role.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work PM shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble food according to restaurant standards, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation.
• Assist with prep work, including chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, preparing proteins, and ensuring all ingredients are ready for service.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
• Assist with stocking and organizing ingredients, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure efficient workflow between the bar and restaurant.
• Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines, adhering to health department standards.
• Assist with any other culinary tasks as needed to support the overall kitchen operation.
