PAVEMENT MARKING OPERATOR - FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES

Locations: Madison, New Berlin, Stevens Point, Cadott.

Forward Traffic & Marking is a proud union contractor committed to excellence in road construction. We are always looking to connect with dedicated and skilled Pavement Marking Operators interested in supporting road construction projects across Wisconsin.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PAVEMENT MARKING OPERATOR

As a Pavement Marking Operator, you will play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing pavement markings throughout Wisconsin. You'll be responsible for preparing work areas, transporting materials, and operating various pavement marking equipment, including epoxy striping, thermoplastic, MMA, and permanent tape. Following engineering plans and ensuring precise application to meet industry standards will be key to your success.

Your role includes reading and interpreting blueprints, assisting with layout for road markings, and performing routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles. You'll keep accurate job logs, meet deadlines, and maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. Regular communication with your supervisor ensures proper progress updates and adherence to company procedures, including daily equipment inspections.

Flexibility is key, as you'll work in varying environmental conditions and be involved in tasks that may change daily. A strong focus on quality, safety, and efficient work is essential in this role.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must always maintain a valid driver's license and excellent driving record.
  • Ability to maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (FEDMED) in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Ability obtain a Class B CDL license within 12 months of employment in the position (may require Hazmat and Tanker endorsement).
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repetitively, reach overhead, bend, kneel and twist.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment and extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk long distances consistently and drive for extended periods of time.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, nights, weekends, and travel overnight for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work in a potentially dangerous environment near traffic.
