Job summary

Valor Hospitality Partners, LLC is seeking a PM Maintenance Tech for the Hilton Garden Inn Starkville, MS. You will respond to service calls, perform preventive maintenance, and keep hotel equipment safe and operational.

Requirements include a high school diploma or trade education, and at least two years in building maintenance and construction. The job involves some heavy lifting and on-site duties with hotel guests and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
• Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
• Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
• Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
• Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain chemical concentration.
• Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor electrical switch gears.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces and other daily operations.
• Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
• Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log for next shift.
• Respond to emergencies including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify authorities.
• Handle operation of boiler and chiller and maintain temperatures throughout the building.
• Assist with parking lot maintenance and snow removal as needed.
• Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
