Job summary

Med One Group in Hayward, CA is seeking a dependable Lead Driver Supervisor to oversee drivers, ensure daily routes, and maintain safe, efficient operations for hospitals and healthcare facilities. This is a full-time, hourly position with a 2:00 PM–10:30 PM schedule.

As a key on-site leader, you will coach drivers, manage deliveries and pickups, handle on-site equipment setup and troubleshooting, and coordinate with the Operations Manager to resolve issues. No CDL required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma required; some college or technical school experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Previous supervisory, leadership, or Lead Driver experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of previous delivery driver experience.
• Prior Box Truck driving experience required.
• Proficient in computer operation.
• Clean motor vehicle record; valid driver’s license.
• Ability to load and unload heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Familiarity with local and surrounding areas; read maps and directions.
• Ability to read and write in English.
• Ability to supervise, coach, and support team members; maintain positive work environment.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Overtime and on-call scheduling may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for employees during your shift in the absence of the Operations Manager.
• Supervise, lead, and support drivers to complete daily assignments and priorities.
• Assign and coordinate daily driver routes, deliveries, pickups, and tasks.
• Provide coaching, training, and feedback to drivers on performance and safety.
• Complete deliveries, pickups, and documentation thoroughly and on time.
• Install and repair mattresses and beds on-site at hospitals and medical facilities.
• Assist hospitals with setup, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of equipment.
• Interact with customers professionally to enhance company credibility.
• Assist in receiving, shipping, cleaning, and processing equipment inventory.
• Assist Operations Manager with receiving, unpacking, assembling orders, and preparing goods for shipment; recording shipment data.
• Help onboard and train new drivers on procedures, equipment handling, and safety requirements.
• Perform cosmetic repairs and ensure vehicles are well-maintained.
• Ensure company vehicles are maintained per manufacturer specifications.
• Assist with light equipment maintenance and cleaning.

• Assist in receiving, shipping, cleaning, and processing of medical equipment inventory.
• Assist the Operations Manager with receiving and unpacking materials and supplies, assembling orders and preparing goods for shipment, recording shipment data (including weight and charges), and loading and unloading equipment.
• Assist with resolving employee and operational issues and escalated concerns to the Operations Manager or appropriate member of management when needed.
• Help onboard and train new drivers on company procedures, equipment handling, delivery expectations, and safety requirements.
• Perform cosmetic repairs, including repairing case damage, sanding, and repainting.
• Ensure company vehicles are properly maintained according to the manufacturer's specifications.
• Assist in light equipment maintenance and cleaning.
