A leading hotel in Houston seeks Housemen to provide janitorial and maintenance support for guest rooms and public spaces. The role involves ensuring cleanliness, assisting with supplies, and responding to guest needs. Candidates should be physically fit and committed to high service standards.
Housemen are responsible to provide janitorial and maintenance support to ensure the cleanliness of the hotel public space and guest areas including: guest rooms, hallways, and all public areas of the hotel in accordance with brand standards and hotel procedures. The following reflects the essential job duties but does not restrict tasks that may be assigned. Duties of this job may be changed at management’s discretion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Perform cleaning and maintenance duties in guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and service areas as assigned.
Assist room attendants with cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they have what they need for optimal efficiency.
Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies and report any inventory needs to the housekeeping supervisor.
Respond promptly to guest requests for additional amenities or housekeeping services.
Ensure that all public areas, including lobbies, restrooms, and dining areas, are clean and well-maintained at all times.
Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management immediately.
Assist in the training and orientation of new housekeeping staff.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and team members.
Adhere to the company's policies, procedures, and standards regarding cleanliness and customer service.
Maintain effective performance under pressure
Follow proper procedures for lost and found items
Follow guest safety procedures
Follow guest requests, i.e. do not disturb signs, change of linen or terry
Acknowledge and greet guests in public spaces
Review daily inventory of supplies needed to complete assignments
