Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare or direct preparation of food using established procedures.
- Determine required food and supplies based on production systems.
- Ensure availability of supplies and food in time for preparation.
- Learn menus, recipes, and presentation standards.
- Set steam table; serve or oversee food service.
- Maintain sanitation, hygiene, and health standards.
- Store food properly, marking date and item.
- Report equipment issues to supervisor.
- Prepare all food following recipes and dietary requirements.
- Coordinate food production with meal serving times.
- Portion food for serving.
- Maintain daily production records.
- Keep work area clean and equipment maintained.
- Conduct food temperature checks before service.
- Prepare food for upcoming shifts and days.
- Work with servers to ensure guest satisfaction and address complaints.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- At least 1 year of cooking experience in a restaurant or hotel.
- Culinary degree (2-4 years) preferred.
