Job summary

Boise Cascade seeks an experienced Plywood Shift Supervisor to join the White City, Oregon plant leadership team. You will supervise hourly production employees, coordinate daily activities, and drive safety, quality and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role requires 3–5 years in manufacturing or wood products, strong communication, and the ability to lead change. The position is full-time on-site with competitive total rewards and opportunities to contribute to Boise

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred in engineering or wood manufacturing.
  • 3–5 years in manufacturing or wood products with lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and change-management skills in a team setting.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule in a production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily activities of production employees to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Provide daily/weekly reports on production flow, performance and results.
  • Identify and implement improvements in production, quality, safety and workflow.
  • Supervise hourly employees in housekeeping, safety, productivity and policy compliance.
  • Promote a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Lead safety meetings and reinforce safe practices with hourly staff.
  • Foster strong employee relations and a collaborative team culture.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on safety, production, quality and staffing.
  • Support payroll processes, inventory, shipping and maintenance coordination.
  • Champion continuous improvement through Boise Improvement Cycle (BIC).

Boise Cascade is seeking an experienced, people-focusedPlywood Shift Supervisorto join the leadership team at our Plywood manufacturing plant inWhite City, Oregon.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the daily activities of production employees to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports summarizing production flow, performance, and operational results.
  • Collaborate with plant personnel to identify and implement improvements related to production, quality, safety, and workflow.
  • Supervise hourly production employees in housekeeping, job safety, productivity, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Facilitate periodic safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices with hourly employees.
  • Build strong employee relations and foster a collaborative, respectful, and accountable team environment.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates regarding plant safety, production, quality, staffing, and workflow.
  • Maintain environmental awareness and promote compliance with environmental, safety, and company standards.
  • Review work performance, provide coaching and feedback, and complete employee performance appraisals.
  • Understand and facilitate payroll processes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support inventory, shipping, production scheduling, and maintenance coordination.
  • Champion theBoise Improvement Cycle (BIC)and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Minimum Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. College Degree in Industrial/mechanical engineering, forestry or wood manufacturing is preferred.

Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in manufacturing or wood products experience, with experience as a Lead or Supervisor is strongly preferred.

Essential qualifications include proven skills in a production environment with an understanding of manufacturing practices, excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with people and to facilitate change and growth in a team environment. Must be available to work a flexible work schedule in a production-manufacturing environment. PC skills are essential.
